Lecture and Food From London!

Lecture and Food From London!

Today I attended my favorite lecture at Regents University. The lecture came from both Professors’ Boukrami and Henide. The lecture was about UK’s economic status after Brexit. I learned that purchasing power in U.K.’s market dropped when they left European Union. Inflation increased more as well. Even though the U.K. left the European Union, they still have relations with them through trading that deals with digital trading, energy, and intellectual property. The professors also explained the voting of Brexit. The voting of leaving Brexit came from a small majority. After the lecture, we still ate with the professors and talked about cryptocurrency and do’s and don'ts of investing.

After a great lecture at Regents University, my classmates and I engaged in a meeting with Chief Executive, James Alexander, from the UK sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF). Alexander explained the financial markets in the U.K. Like the U.S. many blue collar workers start a pension funds. Alexander also explained how companies do better when they have a diverse gender staff. Again, similar to the U.S., U.K. consumer spending habits effect the economy drastically.

For food I went to a place called the Shakespeare. For food, I finally tried fish and chips. It also came with bread, butter, and vinegar. Overall the food was great. The fish’s batter made the taste crispy . The chips (known as fries in the U.S.) was good as well. Unlike the U.S. the fries had little to no salt. The food also taste really great. I would give it an 8/10.

Farewell London!
