Fine Dining After a Great Mystery
Today, I got to visit the famous 221B Baker Street, home of the illustrious Sherlock Holmes! I saw the entire house which included his bedroom and sitting room. The sitting room had sooo many of his various belongings and you could tell he spent a great deal of time there, whether it just having deep discussions with Watson or sitting across from new clients he would potentially take as they sought his help.
I found this wall of strange portraits to be quite odd just hanging on Sherlocks bedroom wall, but apparently it had significance. This wall of strange portraits is actually a wall full of murderous criminals! As to why someone would want these people hanging in their bedroom to wake up too every morning is beyond me, but I received my answer to that. Sherlock Holmes woke up to this sight daily and stared at it so that he could get into the mind and thought process of a murderous criminal. The logic behind it is quite fascinating as it just goes to show how special and unique each individual person really is.
After a nice mystery is always a nice meal. I found a nice little steak house called STK (London — Strand location) to partake in that was absolutely stunning! I had service from about 3 different people before I even spoke to my waitress, and this was just walking in and getting seated. I assumed they would’ve been in a rush due to telling me their kitchen was closing in 10 min when I walked through the door despite not actually closing for another hour and 30 min. I wasn’t rushed, food came out perfectly cooked and seasoned, waitress offered me samples of wine to pair with my steak and constantly came by the table every several min to check if I needed anything or to just refill my water, which they give you your own bottle that stays on the table.
