Covid Markets and Parliament

Today we took a self guided tour at the parliament and then we learned about the economic effects of Covid on Belgiums stock exchanges.

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the initial history behind the creation of the EU. We were given ear pieces and we could listen or read about past events and recent laws that have been voted on. My favorite part was at the end of the tour where we were able to sit and listen to people from all around and how they have been affected by recent law or what they intend to do to make the union better for everyone.

later we attended the united business institute and our speaker gave us an in depth overview of how Belgian markets were effected by COVID. We learned that much more retail investors began to tap into the market and the volume of trades jumped up. We also learned that this was the fastest and furthest crash of the market but also the fastest recovery.
