The London Bridge
Grab your tennis shoes because we’re going on a tour! Today was a favorite of mine. We started our day with a walking tour around the city where we got to learn about old coffee shops that served as a meeting place for trade and gossip. We also saw the Bank of England as well as Lloyd’s of London that we will be visiting tomorrow. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and seemed to be very passionate about his city.
Afterwards, my friends and I crossed the London Bridge and headed to Borough Market for lunch. The bridge was breathtaking, the boats were huge, and it was slightly crowded. Borough Market on the other hand was extremely crowded. The stands ranged from pastries, fruit, smoothies, Indian, Thai, Italian, Mediterranean, and Mexican food. I ordered a Falafel wrap which was okay, but I just wanted to try something new.
Later we headed to the Tower of London where we learned of its history and the prisoners that resided there. We also got to tour each part and see the royal crowns and septars, which of course were my favorite part. Unfortunately, no photography was allowed, but I’ll never forget how the jewels on the crowns lit up the room. Despite the thirty minutes of rain we experienced, overall this was a nice day.
The oldest remaining coffee shop!
